Mario Miranda was a renowned Goan artist and cartoonist known for finding humor in everyday life. Born in 1926, he was invited worldwide for his iconic drawings that captured the essence of his travels. He posthumously received the Padma Vibhushan, India's second-highest civilian award. Drawn in 1991, "Street Singapore" by Mario was illustrated during his travels. The Singapore Tourism Department had seen his work and invited him to spend five days in Singapore to participate in a drawing competition, where he won the first prize!
