What is it?

Mario Miranda was a renowned Goan artist and cartoonist known for finding humor in everyday life. Born in 1926, he was invited worldwide for his iconic drawings that captured the essence of his travels. He posthumously received the Padma Vibhushan, India's second-highest civilian award. Drawn in 2000, "Kimono Girl" by Mario was made during his travels to Japan. The Japan Foundation invited him there along with 11 other cartoonists from South-East Asia for a Conference & Exhibition. In Mario’s words, “We’ve never been looked after as well as we have been in Japan. Their attention to detail is fantastic”.
